Job Overview
Nizari is seeking a well-rounded financial executive to lead the organization as Chief Executive Officer.
Function
Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, CEO will be responsible for all business activities including policy development, staffing, budget, operations, planning, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Collaborating with Board on the establishment and execution of the strategic plan and financial stability corresponding with the best interests of the members, the employees, and the credit union. Provide strategic direction, vision, leadership, and management in all functional areas.
The CEO’s role includes sustaining the organization and taking it into the future. Part of this role includes being a visionary, developing future leaders, and scouting out future opportunities for change. Plan, direct and control all credit union activities in accordance with credit union plans, policies, Governance Policies, directives, and activities as established by the board of directors.
Regular Responsibilities:
- Creates an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Act as the figurative head of the organization when communicating with stockholders, government entities, and the public, and serve as the company’s primary spokesperson.
- Lead the development of the organization’s long and short-term strategies, manage overall operations, and make major decisions affecting the organization.
- Oversees financial performance and risk profile while ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met; manages the design and implementation of new products and services; and oversees brand development and the implementation of effective marketing strategies.
- Increases revenues and income before inter-company allocations and implements operating cost controls in the areas of staffing, supplies, purchased services, etc.
- Provide strategic direction in all credit union functions including accounting, ALM, business development, compliance, facilities management, finance, human resources, investments, lending, marketing, operations, retail services, risk management, and security.
- Supervise the budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
- Present compensation philosophy to the Board. Plan and establish appropriate wage and salary structure in accordance with that philosophy.
- Plan and oversee the employee benefits program, balancing internal demands and equity in the marketplace and costs.
- Manage security and safety for the credit union, with the responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures and alert staff of any changes in a timely manner.
- Report to the Board monthly the condition of the credit union and any items needing the board’s attention.
Qualifications
Chief Executive Officer Qualifications/Skills:
- Corporate management
- Financial planning, strategy, and forecasting
- Strategic planning and vision
- Marketing, business development, and process improvement
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of management experience including extensive commercial lending/credit administration experience. In-depth understanding of the industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
