As an Intern at Nizari Progressive Federal Credit Union, you will have the opportunity to work with a member-owned Ismaili financial institution. Our Finance Internship is open to high school students in their Junior or Senior years, and graduate students. This role is a paid 30-day onsite internship in Sugar Land that will provide a background into the Finance field at a Credit Union. During this internship, you may work on various projects involving the Member Services, daily operations of a Credit Union, financial database creation and updating, new project implementation, financial modeling and cash forecasting, and other process improvement. The internship will start in July 2024.

Responsibilities

• Gains an understanding of all aspects of the business, with a focus on branch operations, financial data management and general finance management.
• Instills and upholds a customer service culture within the company that fosters retention, relationships, and loyalty; and positions the company for increased growth opportunities.
• Partners with key mentors throughout the program.
• Assists managers and staff with projects as assigned.
• Collaborates with managers, supervisors, and other senior staff.
• Presentations to executive leadership about projects.
• Follows all company regulations and health and safety codes.
• Learns about conflict resolution and how to address various situations.
• Maintains high level of member information confidentiality.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Must be currently enrolled in high school (as an incoming junior or senior student) or graduate school with an interest in learning more about Credit Unions.
• Excellent communication skills: written and oral.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Attention to detail.
• Time management skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
