Important Information You Need to Know About Opening a New Account. To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.What this means for you:
- When you open an account:
For individuals: we will ask for your full legal name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask for your Social Security Number (SSN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
For corporations, partnerships or trusts: we will ask for the legal name of the entity, the principal place of business, local office or other physical location. We will also ask for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) - We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
